Baking Week & Banana and Lemon Cake

This was definitely a ‘baking week’. I made so many cakes, cupcakes, teacakes... that I lost count of it.
You may ask why... Well, it was Interbio Organic Week and, besides a lot of orders I had to deliver, I wanted to give my own small contribution to the event.

We decided to organize bio snacks for all classmates of my kids. We did it on both schools and had a big support from Ângelo from Miosótis and João from Espaço Bio.
Kids heard a bit about of organic food production and then had some cakes and juices.
I am exhausted but I think it was worth and now I am off for weekend and holiday on North...

Did you participate in something from Interbio activities this week? Tell me all....

Esta foi definitivamente uma ‘semana de cozedura’. Fiz tantos bolos, cupcakes, teacakes... que lhes perdi a conta.
Podem perguntar-me porquê...

Conte-me tudo....

Ana's shop

During my ‘kitchen project’ I spent a lot of time on etsy, getting completely lost in the crafts world, searching for kitchen accessories... and that’s how I discovered Ana’s shop.
Ana is a graphic designer and illustrator, working and living in Zagreb, Croatia (actually that is what I discovered yesterday seeing her profile).
Her work is really simple and colorful, with soft cozy colors that I love.

Her lovely seasonal tote bags are perfect for market shopping... I imagine onions, spinach, salad, tomatoes and other friends sneaking from these bags. But I would even use it in some walk in Chiado or have some picnic with it in Jardim de Estrela...

And prints... my favorite ones are the white and blue... and they do match with my light blue kitchen closets :-) Which print do you like more?

E as impressões... as minhas preferidas são as brancas e azuis... elas combinam mesmo com os meus armários de cozinha azuis claros :-) Qual é a impressão que gosta mais?{Anek}

Coffee and Nuts Cake

It was so nice to meet the girls and spend some time with them.

I like to gather around in cold weather in a cozy home around some comforting hot food and good wine and I loved our dinner last night. Bolivian food on menu and me taking care of dessert… as I was told, I could choose whatever I wanted to make so…crunchy nut and coffee flavor.

I took the cake from the oven like 5 minutes before I left for dinner so it was still hot when we had it and it matched perfectly with some vanilla ice cream…

London..second part

My friend, knowing that I'm fan of organic food, booked our dinner at Duke of Cambridge, which is the first and only organic pub/restaurant in London.
I must say that I loved the food and the company. I met friends that I didn’t see for years and, after a minute of conversation, it seemed like we got together some days before... the few hours of chatting passed so quickly...

As we went to visit new places and know more of London, I also couldn’t miss places I already knew and love... eat at Wagamama and Ottolenghi, go to Books for Cooks...

I came back with 3 new books. I just couldn’t resist visiting Books for Cooks and not having cake and coffee and having ‘small’ shopping there :-)

London..first part

And… I'm back! Back from 3 lovely days in London. 3 days wandering around, eating on great places, visiting markets, buying books, seeing friend… I feel as good as new and full of inspiration!
On the first day our idea was to go to Shoreditch, to visit some nice spots I have read and heard about. Since my friend, in whose apartment we stood, lives in Islington… on our way to the tube station we suddenly found ourselves in a fairly tail street. Don’t ask me how, but Camden Passage seems like being far away from noise, crowd… such a cute, small street with great shops. Our first stop was The Elk in the Woods to have coffee and I loved their simplicity and decoration.

Then we continued to Loop

and Smug… the first one is a great knitting and crafting shop for which I fell in love just looking at their shop window and the second is trendy homeware shop.

We continued our trip to Shoreditch and there I just couldn´t resist… did some shopping at Labour and Wait

and had lunch at the great bakery/coffee bar/food shop… Albion, a great place and great lunch.

It will be continued…

My space

Kitchen is the space where we spend a lot of time in when we are home. Even my kids… they have their rooms, but they like to be in kitchen with me… drawing, doing homework, speaking and I also like to have their company. So… I need it to be the way I like and in the way we would all feel good in it. Only with that in mind I started some work on it in the beginning of this year. Slowly it became to something I like and feel good in and I can say now that I'm proud with the result. What do you think?
Do you spend a lot of time in the kitchen? Would you like to change something in it?

Cinnamon Rolls

Everything started in IKEA some weeks ago when I stopped by their coffee shop for some snack and saw something that took my attention (at the time I didn’t know what is it but then I discovers from sweet lady who was working there)... cinnamon rolls.
So... cinnamon rolls are typical Swedish pastry and the 4th of October is the Cinnamon Roll day in Sweden!! (I immediately imagined how it would be great to have Pastel de Belém day in Portugal. It would be so cool :-) )

As on Saturday I got up before the rest of my family, I made these pretty rolls for breakfast. When the kids got up all the house was smelling on cinnamon, and the breakfast was just great. It was the perfect start of the weekend!!!

Something about me...

I think everybody in life has doubts, highs and lows… stop at one point and try to review what is behind, actions, decisions… and I am not an exception in that. But, when you come to point when your work is recognized and appreciated, all the doubts, bad moments, tiredness… just disappear. This week I had two of those moment… first, as I mentioned in the previous post, I was asked to participate in the Village Underground promotion. And second was the interview with Sancha for Personal Time… now, this right moment, I feel fulfilled!!!

Hope you like the interview

Time… agora, neste preciso momento, sinto-me realizada!!!
Espero que gostem da entrevista
