For old, new and future friends

My father uses to say that one should feel accomplished having two really good friends in their life, the ones with which you can share good and bad, the ones that are there when you need them, and a lot of the other friends... friends to have coffee with, friends to go to cinema, friends for gym...

I am not sure if I agree with his theory... but since he is older and has more life experience, I am also not doubting of his words.

My life, until now, was marked by friendships, some better than others.
Unfortunately I had to take apart from a few really good ones... because of the war, because I left to live abroad... but these friends still have a place in my heart. They may be far away but still live in my memories and when we meet, even if it's one every ten years, it feels like we were never apart.

And then... there are the new ones. The ones that came into my life lately, the ones that are wining my heart slowly, but surely. The ones with whom I share my present.
All of them, new, old and future, define me. I wouldn't be who I am without them.

This lemon cake was made for one friend, a new one. One that takes an important part in my life now.

I still hope to share a lot of cakes, smiles, tears and hugs with my old, new and future friends. Thank you for being part of my life!!!

  1. We make friends during our life, ones that we are daily and others that we see time to time and the ones that stay in our memory but all of them are very important :)

  2. Olá Sanda,

conto a mesma história.

  3. Such a beautiful post....I feel warmth in my heart. I read it twice :).

I have a few friends in my life, some quite close to me, others less... I miss one especially, but she is gone now, she's on another journey, on a journey with the angels...

The cake is just perfect! :) Love it.
