Turkey, Haloumi and Lemon Skewers

You can't imagine how happy I was when last week I found haloumi in the supermarket near my house.

I remember once I spoke with a friend, who lives in Lisbon but is actually from London, and asked her if she actually ever found haloumi here and her reply was: 'Forget it, you will never find it!!'. (now I am just waiting for her to come back from vacation to tell her I actually did find it!!!{*smile})

I had on my list so many great recipes that call for haloumi and when I had it in my hands I just wanted to try them all!!

I started with this simple skewers, made them for our Sunday lunch together with fig tart and we love it.

Yesterday M. made haloumi with fig and presunto and I didn't even have time to take photo...

Não podem imaginar o quão feliz eu fiquei quando, na semana passada, encontrei haloumi no supermercado perto de minha casa.

Lembro-me de ter falado com uma amiga, que vive em Lisboa mas é de Londres, e perguntei-lhe se ela já tinha encontrado haloumi aqui, e sua resposta foi: "Esquece isso, nunca vais encontrá-lo!!". (agora só estou à espera de ela voltar de férias para lhe contar que encontrei!!! {*smile})


Eu tinha na minha lista tantas receitas fantásticas que exigem haloumi e quando o tive nas minhas mãos, queria tentar todas elas!
Comecei com estas espetadas simples, para o nosso almoço de domingo, juntamente com a tarte de figo e adoramos.
Ontem o M. fez haloumi com figo e presunto e eu nem sequer tive tempo para tirar fotos...
