Autumn Inspirations

Cold days arrived finally and I just want to spend days in the house baking and cooking.
I crave for a comfort food ,are you the same?
In case you do I wanted to share few of my pinterest inspirations, some of the dishes I am planing to try in following days.

Italian Market

Whenever I go abroad, the first thing that I want to visit is a local market. Markets say so much about a place! Locals chatting and discussing with farmers, colours and the smell of food, fresh products hanging from the shelfs... everything about a market is absolutely amazing.

When I heard that Nikole is coming to teach about food styling and photography in Italy and that we would visit a local market on our first day... let's put it together... Italy, market, Nikole teaching, I don't need more to convince me to join in.

Sempre que vou para fora, a primeira coisa que quero visitar é um mercado local. Os mercados dizem muito sobre um lugar. Os locais a conversar e a discutir com os agricultores, as cores e o cheiro a comida, produtos frescos pendurados nas prateleiras... tudo sobre o mercado é absolutamente incrível.

Quando ouvi que a Nikole vinha ensinar fotografia e styling de comida em Itália e que iríamos visitar um mercado local no nosso primeiro dia... juntando as peças... Itália, mercado, Nikole a ensinar, não preciso de mais para me convencer a ir.

In small Italian villages it's usual that the market goes from one place to the other during the week and we were lucky that, on Thursday, was the market day in Roseto.

It was quite small but full of great things... cheese, sausages, fish, vegetables, fruits... my eyes were wide open, my nose was trying to absorb all of the fragrances, I was in paradise!!

Nas vilas pequenas italianas, é normal o mercado ir de um lugar para o outro durante a semana e nós tivemos sorte de, na quinta-feira, ser o dia de mercado em Roseto.

Era pequeno, mas cheia de coisas óptimas... queijo, salsichas, peixe, legumes, frutas ... os meus olhos estavam bem abertos, meu nariz estava a tentar absorver todos os aromas, eu estava no paraíso!

Our local guide was great explaining all of the local specialities that we could find around and, when he got tired, he just invited us for a glass of wine.
Drinking wine and eating cheese at 10 o'clock in the morning... not bad at all! {*smile}

Chocolate need and Pinterest inspiratios

As some of you may remember, I have a lot of food intolerance and, the one with which I have most problems, is intolerance to cocoa.
What does that mean? It means no chocolate in my life. And that is something very difficult to deal with.

I am thinking of experimenting with carob powder (and in the case it gets ok, I will share it with you). But, until then, I can just cry over chocolate inspirations on my pinterest board.
If you try some of these, please let me know how it went.

Como alguns de vocês se devem lembrar, eu tenho bastantes intolerâncias alimentares e, aquela com a qual tenho mais problemas, é a intolerância a cacau.
O que é que isso significa? Significa nada de chocolate na minha vida. E isso é algo muito difícil de lidar.

Estou a pensar em experimentar com alfarroba em pó (e no caso de ficar bem, vou partilhar convosco). Mas, até lá, só posso chorar com as inspirações de chocolate no meu board do Pinterest.

My Pinterest Inspirations

It is a fact, I spend some time everyday on the net. It's the first thing I do in the morning... read and respond my mails, see my favourite blogs and sites, look at the twitter and facebook...
I find a lot of inspiration on the net and in the past I would save these inspirations in my favourites bar but, since I discovered pinterest some time ago, now I save it there.

I wanted to share some of these inspirations with you today (and will try to do it in the future also), recipes I would like to make in the following weeks. Hope you like and find them inspiring also.

É um facto, passo algum tempo todos os dias na net. É a primeira coisa que faço pela manhã... ler e responder aos meus e-mails, ver os meus blogs e sites preferidos, dar uma vista de olhos no twitter e no facebook...
Encontro muita inspiração na net e dantes guardava essas inspirações na minha barra de favoritos mas, desde que descobri o pinterest há algum tempo, agora guardo-os lá.

Anna Westerlund Ceramics

When I first discovered Anna's work in a beautiful shop in Evora, I found it so romantic and feminine and became a huge fan of it.
By the years I would see her work once in a while in this or that shop and I didn't even need to ask... it was obvious it was Anna's work. Her style is so unique.
Some months ago I received a phone call from Anna, saying how much she loves my work. Believe it or not... I almost fell down. I even did my happy dance after hanging up.
Then I met Anna and, after speaking with her for a few minutes, I realised she is just like her work... incredibly feminine and romantic. Knowing her, I started appreciating her work even more (if that is possible).
I hope you enjoy her work as much as I do!!

Quando eu descobri o trabalho da Anna numa bonita loja em Évora, achei tão romântico e feminino e tornei-me uma grande fã.
Com os anos eu vi o seu trabalho de vez em quando nesta ou naquela loja e nem sequer precisava de perguntar... era óbvio que era um trabalho da Anna. O seu estilo é tão singular.
Há alguns meses recebi um telefonema da Anna, para me dizer o quanto ela gostava do meu trabalho. Acreditem ou não... eu quase caí. Até fiz a minha dança de felicidade depois de desligar.
Entretanto conheci a Anna e, depois de falar com ela por alguns minutos, percebi que ela é exactamente como o seu trabalho... extremamente feminina e romântica. Conhecendo-a, comecei a apreciar o seu trabalho ainda mais (se isso é possível).
Espero que goste do trabalho da Anna tanto quanto eu!!

Vintage Kitchen

I love vintage kitchen decor and tools. Since I don't have grandparents, aunts or uncles' houses to search for these treasures, I go to flea markets or look for them on the net.

Last time I went home, my mum's friend brought some old enamel plates for me to choose, if I like some. They were so sweet and plates were lovely!!

Usually my prime source is etsy and lately I found a few great shops that sell vintage products. These are my favourites and I hope you like them also.

Eu adoro decoração e utensílios da cozinha vintage. Como não tenho por aqui casas de avós, tias ou tios para procurar esses tesouros, vou aos mercados de rua ou procuro-os na net.

Na última vez que fui a casa, uma amiga da minha mãe trouxe algumas pratos velhos de esmalte para eu escolher, se gostasse de alguns. Foram tão queridos e os pratos eram adoráveis!

Normalmente a minha fonte principal é a etsy e recentemente encontrei algumas lojas fantásticas que vendem produtos vintage. Estes são os meus favoritos e espero que gostem deles também.

My favourite holiday

For the last 11 years that I live in Portugal/Lisbon, June is my favourite month of the year.
It's the month of parties, grilled sardines and meat, caldo verde, music and marjoram.

Sto. António is Lisbon's saint and every year we go out to celebrate it together with everybody. Old Lisbon neighbourhoods are at party. There is grill with sardines almost in front of every house, sangria, wine, loud music... and I love Lisbon in June!!

Nos últimos 11 anos que vivo em Portugal/Lisboa, Junho é o meu mês preferido do ano.
É o mês das festas, das sardinha e carne assada, do caldo verde, de música e manjericos.

O Sto. António é o padroeiro de Lisboa e todos os anos saímos para o celebrar junto com toda a gente. Os antigos bairros de Lisboa estão a celebrar. Há grelhadores com sardinhas à frente de quase todas as casas, sangria, vinho, música alta... e eu adoro Lisboa em Junho!!

Beautiful wood products from Gray Works Design

I am always searching for products made from organic materials. I love to use them in my photos and everyday life. I like the smell and texture of different kinds of wood, so when I discovered Gray Works Design shop on Etsy I was without words.

Gray Works Design use 'only locally and sustainably harvested or salvaged hardwoods, hand rubbed with organic olive oil' and were featured in Martha Stewart's Whole Living Magazine, Apartment Therapy, The Kitchn, Natural Home and Garden Magazine, Cup of Jo, Handmadeology, The Steamy Kitchen...

Every piece is unique and so beautiful, don't you think?

Ando sempre à procura de produtos feitos de materiais biológicos. Gosto de usá-los nas minhas fotos e no dia-a-dia. Gosto do cheiro e da textura dos diferentes tipos de madeira, por isso, quando descobri a loja da Gray Works Design na Etsy fiquei sem palavras.

A Gray Works Design usa 'apenas madeiras recuperadas e recolhidas localmente e de forma sustentável, nas quais é aplicado manualmente azeite biológico' e foram apresentados na revista Whole Living Magazine da Martha Stewart, Apartment Therapy, The Kitchn, Natural Home and Garden Magazine, Cup of Jo, Handmadeology, The Steamy Kitchen...
