Vintage Kitchen

I love vintage kitchen decor and tools. Since I don't have grandparents, aunts or uncles' houses to search for these treasures, I go to flea markets or look for them on the net.

Last time I went home, my mum's friend brought some old enamel plates for me to choose, if I like some. They were so sweet and plates were lovely!!

Usually my prime source is etsy and lately I found a few great shops that sell vintage products. These are my favourites and I hope you like them also.

Eu adoro decoração e utensílios da cozinha vintage. Como não tenho por aqui casas de avós, tias ou tios para procurar esses tesouros, vou aos mercados de rua ou procuro-os na net.

Na última vez que fui a casa, uma amiga da minha mãe trouxe algumas pratos velhos de esmalte para eu escolher, se gostasse de alguns. Foram tão queridos e os pratos eram adoráveis!

Normalmente a minha fonte principal é a etsy e recentemente encontrei algumas lojas fantásticas que vendem produtos vintage. Estes são os meus favoritos e espero que gostem deles também.

Beautiful wood products from Gray Works Design

I am always searching for products made from organic materials. I love to use them in my photos and everyday life. I like the smell and texture of different kinds of wood, so when I discovered Gray Works Design shop on Etsy I was without words.

Gray Works Design use 'only locally and sustainably harvested or salvaged hardwoods, hand rubbed with organic olive oil' and were featured in Martha Stewart's Whole Living Magazine, Apartment Therapy, The Kitchn, Natural Home and Garden Magazine, Cup of Jo, Handmadeology, The Steamy Kitchen...

Ando sempre à procura de produtos feitos de materiais biológicos. Gosto de usá-los nas minhas fotos e no dia-a-dia. Gosto do cheiro e da textura dos diferentes tipos de madeira, por isso, quando descobri a loja da Gray Works Design na Etsy fiquei sem palavras.

Hello everyone, how was your holiday?
We had a lazy day, and I stood all the day in the house. We missed rain all the Winter but now it doesn't stop raining. No... I am not complaining about it. I am aware of its need but, on days like these, I just want to stay cozy and warm, under the blanket, with a cup of tea or a bowl of hot soup.

And, when it's grey outside, I want to feel the sunshine in my house. So, what's better than having that cup of tea in a pretty cup? Or a bowl of soup in a gorgeous bowl? I love that!!

Since recently I discovered the ArtetManufacture shop on etsy, and got in love with Edith's ceramics, I wanted to share her shop with you.
Yesterday I just thought how nice it would be to have some soup from one of her beautiful bowls. Etsy is my weak point. Lately I only do shopping there, and these cups and bowls will be my next acquisition, I am pretty sure of that. {*smile}

Olá a todos, como foi o vosso feriado?
Nós tivemos um dia preguiçoso, e eu fiquei o dia todo em casa. Sentimos a falta da chuva durante todo o Inverno, mas agora ela não para de cair. Não... não me estou a quexar. Estou ciente da sua necessidade mas, em dias como estes, só quero ficar quente e confortável, debaixo do cobertor, com uma chávena de chá ou uma tigela de sopa quente.

E, quando está cinzento lá fora, quero sentir o sol em minha casa. Por isso, o que é melhor do que ter aquela chávena de chá num copo bonito? Ou a sopa numa tigela lindo? Adoro isso!

Como recentemente descobri a loja ArtetManufacture na etsy, e me apaixonei pela cerâmica da Edith, queria partilhar a sua loja com vocês.
Ontem só pensava como seria bom ter um pouco de sopa de um dos seus maravilhosos pratos.A Etsy é o meu ponto fraco. Ultimamente só faço compras lá, e estes copos e taças serão a minha próxima aquisição, tenho quase a certeza disso. {*smile}

You are all aware about my fever for linen. I like how it looks and feels and, who knows me, probably noticed that I have a lot of linen products in my closet, specially for the summer. This fever doesn't stop here.

I use linen textile in my photos and in my kitchen also.
It's a fact, I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and I like to feel good and pretty (why not?!?), so I regularly search for nice linen aprons to add to my collection.

When I discovered Knock Knock shop on etsy I was trilled. Such a great cuts and design of aprons, I immediately got in love with them. Their products use natural and eco friendly linen and aprons looks so cool, that I definitely can't resist them.

Estarão certamente cientes da minha paixão por linho. Eu gosto de como fica e se sente e, quem me conhece, provavelmente já reparou que eu tenho bastantes produtos de linho no meu armário, especialmente para o verão. Esta paixão não fica por aqui.

Eu uso têxteis de linho nas minhas fotos e na minha cozinha também.
É um facto, eu gasto muito tempo na cozinha e gosto de me sentir bem e bonita (porque não?!?), por isso eu costumo procurar por aventais giros de linho para adicionar à minha coleção.

Quando descobri a loja Knock Knock na etsy fiquei maravilhada. Cortes e designs tão bonitos para aventais, que me apaixonei imediatamente por eles. Os seus produtos usam linho natural e amigo do ambiente e os aventais são tão giros que eu definitivamnente não lhes consigo resistir.

Vintage Kitchen

How was your weekend?

I did rest a lot and today I am full of energy so I did spend some time on the net this morning.

The thing is, I would love to have a bigger oven... it would make my life so much easier.

I was looking on the net for brands that sell it and then I found so many nice vintage pieces I would just kill to have {*smile}.

What do you think if these ones?

Como foi o fim-de-semana?

Eu descansei bastante e hoje estou cheia de energia, por isso passei algum tempo na net esta manhã.

Acontece que eu gostava mesmo de ter um forno grande... que iria facilitar bastante a minha vida.

Eu estava à procura na net por marcas que vendam fornos e encontrei tantas peças vintage giras que adoraria ter {*smile}.

O que acha desses?

My space

Kitchen is the space where we spend a lot of time in when we are home. Even my kids… they have their rooms, but they like to be in kitchen with me… drawing, doing homework, speaking and I also like to have their company. So… I need it to be the way I like and in the way we would all feel good in it. Only with that in mind I started some work on it in the beginning of this year. Slowly it became to something I like and feel good in and I can say now that I'm proud with the result. What do you think?
Do you spend a lot of time in the kitchen? Would you like to change something in it?

A cozinha é o espaço onde passamos bastante tempo quando estamos em casa. Até os meus filhos… eles têm os seus quartos, mas gostam de estar na cozinha comigo… a desenhar, a fazer os trabalhos de casa, a falar e eu também gosto de ter a companhia deles. Então… eu precisava que fosse como eu quero e de uma forma que me fizesse sentir bem nela. Apenas com isso em mente comecei a fazer algumas alterações no início deste ano. Lentamente transformou-se num sítio que eu gosto e onde me sinto bem e posso dizer agora que estou muito orgulhosa com o resultado. O que acha?
Passa muito tempo na cozinha? Gostaria de alterar alguma coisa nela?

Kitchen paper

My grandmother kitchen stays really clearly in my memories... a lot of light, flowers on the windows, white shells, handmade towels with great ‘messages’, wooden oven..and me and her cooking.
I think there is something great about vintage kitchens and I am trying to transform my kitchen in a space I would feel really good in.
So..last Saturday while I was wondering around in Chiado, I entered a A vida a Portuguesa, a shop I really like and I found great kitchen shelves paper . They remained me on my grandmother kitchen .
So I put them immediately and I think they look great :-).One more step to make my ‘kitchen dream’ come true.

A cozinha da minha avó está claramente presente nas minhas memórias… bastante luz, flores nas janelas, prateleiras brancas, panos feitos à mão com boas ‘mensagens’, forno de lenha... e eu e ela a cozinharmos.
Acho que há algo fantástico com as cozinhas vintage e estou a tentar transformar a minha num espaço onde me sinta muito bem.
Portanto… Sábado passado, enquanto passeava pelo Chiado, entrei n ‘A Vida Portuguesa’, uma loja que gosto bastante, e encontrei um papel para prateleiras de cozinha maravilhoso. Faz-me lembrar o que havia na cozinha da minha avó.
Por isso pu-lo imediatamente e acho que fica muito bem :-). Mais um passo para que a minha ‘cozinha de sonho’ se torne realidade.

KitchenAid

Number one object of desire for a long time for me was KitchenAid stand up mixer.
First it was visual impact, its vintage design, colors… I find it irresistible. Then I started reading some overviews and realized it’s ‘powers’ :-)
So.. this year a Santa brought me one, I was jumping of happiness. Since then use it on daily basis…it is great!!!!

My kitchen pegboard

Here it is, I can say we succeeded to install kitchen pegboard and I am proud of it.
It was not easy ,it is not used here and it was difficult to find hooks but after some shop search we found and finally finished it last week.


Here are some ideas where you can use it indoor or outdoor.


I am still planning to paint kitchen storage, that won’t be easy...but now after finishing this small ‘project’ I am full of will to do a rest of the thing missing to make ‘my space’ perfect.
